Kuala Lumpur, 12 January 2026 — Volvo Cars has unveiled its most capable electric SUV yet, the all-new Volvo EX60, redefining long-distance electric driving with a best-in-class driving range of up to 810 kilometres on a single charge¹.
Designed to handle everything from daily commutes to cross-country journeys, the all-electric EX60 delivers the longest range of any fully electric Volvo to date, surpassing even its most recently revealed competitors. Optimised for real-world driving conditions, the EX60 transforms range anxiety into range confidence — proving that going electric no longer means compromise.
“The EX60 is designed to be a gamechanger,” said Anders Bell, Chief Technology Officer at Volvo Cars. “With our new electric vehicle architecture, we directly address the key concerns customers have when switching to electric — delivering class-leading range and fast charging that marks the end of range anxiety.”

Charging as Fast as a Coffee Stop
Beyond its impressive range, the EX60 also charges faster than any electric Volvo before, in all weather conditions. Using a 400kW fast charger, the EX60 can add up to 340km of range in just 10 minutes², making charging stops nearly as quick as refuelling with petrol. All EX60 models are backed by a 10-year battery warranty, offering long-term peace of mind.
Next-Generation SPA3 Architecture
The breakthrough performance of the EX60 is powered by SPA3, Volvo Cars’ most advanced electric vehicle architecture to date. This platform maximises system efficiency while matching the real-world usability of petrol-powered vehicles.
Key innovations include:
- Cell-to-body battery integration, improving structural rigidity and energy efficiency
- In-house developed electric motors, reducing weight and energy loss
- A newly designed battery that balances high energy density with strong power delivery
The EX60 is also the first Volvo to utilise mega casting technology, replacing hundreds of smaller components with a single high-precision cast. This reduces weight, improves efficiency and further extends driving range.
800-Volt System and Intelligent Battery Management
Fast charging is enabled by Volvo’s new 800-volt electrical system and in-house developed software, allowing energy to flow into the battery more efficiently while generating less heat. Advanced algorithms from Volvo’s portfolio company Breathe Battery Technologies continuously optimise charging performance, keeping the battery in its ideal operating window regardless of climate conditions.
With fewer moving parts than a conventional vehicle, the EX60 also requires less frequent servicing, reinforcing its role as a truly no-compromise electric SUV built for the future.
The Volvo EX60 will be officially revealed on 21 January 2026, with the global reveal livestreamed online.
