Chery Malaysia Expands TIGGO 8 Line-Up with New Value-Focused 7-Seater SUV

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 January 2026 — Chery Malaysia has strengthened its SUV portfolio with the introduction of a new variant in the TIGGO 8 series, offering Malaysian families a more attainable yet well-equipped seven-seater option in the brand’s growing TIGGO line-up.

Positioned as the accessible sibling to the TIGGO 8 PRO and TIGGO 8 PHEV Chery Super Hybrid, the new TIGGO 8 blends space, performance and value to meet the needs of customers seeking practicality without compromising comfort and technology.

Powering the TIGGO 8 is a 1.6-litre Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (TGDi) engine paired with a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), producing 197 PS (145 kW) and 290 Nm of torque. This setup ensures smooth cruising, confident overtaking and responsive acceleration across both city and highway driving.

Fuel consumption is rated at approximately 7.0 L/100 km, striking a balance between performance and efficiency for daily commutes and long-distance journeys alike.

The TIGGO 8 measures 4,772 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, with a 2,710 mm wheelbase, contributing to a stable and composed ride. With a curb weight of 1,590 kg and up to 1,930 litres of luggage space, the SUV easily accommodates everything from grocery runs to family road trips. A power tailgate adds everyday convenience with one-touch operation.

Inside, the TIGGO 8 is designed to elevate every journey. Key highlights include dual-zone automatic climate control, a power sunroof with integrated sunshade, and a Sony premium audio system with eight speakers for an immersive in-car experience.

Connectivity is seamless with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster provide clear, intuitive access to vehicle information and entertainment.
