Sepang, 28 August 2026 – Porsche Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Cayenne Electric in Malaysia, expanding the Cayenne family with its first fully electric variant alongside the existing combustion-engined and plug-in hybrid models.
Unveiled at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit during the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia race weekend, the new Cayenne Electric combines Porsche’s signature performance with the practicality and versatility expected from the brand’s flagship SUV.
The Cayenne Electric is now open for bookings in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM699,000 before options.
At the top of the range, the Cayenne Turbo Electric delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) and 1,500 Nm of torque with Launch Control, allowing it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, reach 200 km/h in 7.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 260 km/h.
Supercar Performance in an SUV
The Cayenne Electric range is built around a newly developed electric drive system and Porsche’s all-wheel-drive system with electronic Porsche Traction Management (ePTM).
The Turbo Electric can deliver up to 630 kW (857 PS) in normal driving mode, while its Push-to-Pass function provides an additional 130 kW (176 PS) boost for up to 10 seconds.
Porsche has also transferred technology from its motorsport programmes into the Cayenne Electric. Energy recuperation can reach up to 600 kW, drawing technology and experience from Porsche’s Formula E programme.
The Turbo Electric additionally features direct oil cooling for its rear electric motor, helping maintain performance and efficiency under demanding conditions.
Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard across the range, while the Turbo Electric receives Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). Rear-axle steering is also available, with the rear wheels able to turn by up to five degrees.
For the first time in a Cayenne, Porsche Active Ride is also available on selected variants, helping minimise unwanted body movements while maintaining a balance between comfort and driving dynamics.
Up to 642 km of WLTP Range
Powering the Cayenne Electric is a 113 kWh high-voltage battery featuring double-sided cooling for improved thermal management.
Depending on the variant, the Cayenne Electric offers a combined WLTP range of up to 642 km, while the Cayenne S Electric achieves up to 653 km and the Turbo Electric up to 623 km.
Charging performance is equally impressive. The 800-volt electrical architecture supports DC charging at up to 390 kW, and under specific conditions, up to 400 kW.
Porsche claims the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 16 minutes under optimal conditions.
The Cayenne Electric can also add enough energy for approximately 325 km of range in just 10 minutes, while the Turbo Electric can add around 315 km during the same period.
A More Practical Cayenne
Despite its performance credentials, the Cayenne Electric remains focused on everyday usability.
At 4,985 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,674 mm tall, the electric SUV is 55 mm longer than the combustion-engined Cayenne. Its 3,023 mm wheelbase is also nearly 13 cm longer, creating additional rear legroom.
The electrically adjustable rear seats can be configured between comfort and cargo-focused positions, while luggage capacity ranges from 781 to 1,588 litres. A further 90-litre front luggage compartment is available.
The Cayenne Electric can also tow up to 3.5 tonnes, depending on equipment specification.
Aerodynamics play an important role in efficiency, with the SUV achieving a drag coefficient of 0.25. Porsche Active Aerodynamics adapts the vehicle’s aerodynamic characteristics according to driving conditions and speed.
An optional Off-Road package is also available for customers who require additional capability on rough roads and challenging terrain.
Cayenne Coupé Electric Joins the Line-Up
Alongside the SUV body style, Porsche is also offering the Cayenne Coupé Electric.
With its lower, more dramatic roofline inspired by the Porsche 911, the Coupé achieves a lower drag coefficient of 0.23, contributing to a WLTP range of up to 669 km, depending on variant.
The Coupé retains the same 4,985 mm length and 1,980 mm width as the SUV, but stands 24 mm lower at 1,650 mm.
Despite its sportier silhouette, the Coupé offers between 534 and 1,347 litres of luggage capacity, plus the same 90-litre front luggage compartment.
High-Tech Interior with Porsche Driver Experience
Inside, the Cayenne Electric introduces Porsche’s latest Porsche Driver Experience, centred around a curved OLED Flow Display integrated into the centre console.
The digital instrument cluster measures 14.25 inches, while an optional 14.9-inch passenger display is available.
For the first time in the Cayenne, an augmented-reality head-up display is also offered, creating an 87-inch virtual display area positioned approximately 10 metres ahead of the vehicle.
Despite the extensive digitalisation, Porsche has retained physical controls for frequently used functions such as air-conditioning and audio volume.
The interior also introduces Mood Modes, which can adjust the seating position, lighting, air-conditioning, sound profile and display appearance according to the selected setting.
Other highlights include a sliding panoramic roof with Variable Light Control, panel heating across areas such as armrests and door panels, extended ambient lighting and an animated communication light.
The Cayenne Electric also supports Porsche Digital Key, allowing compatible smartphones and smartwatches to be used as vehicle keys and shared with up to seven additional users.
Extra Equipment for Malaysian Customers
Porsche Malaysia is also giving the Cayenne Electric range additional standard equipment specifically for the Malaysian market.
The standard equipment includes four-zone automatic climate control, 14-way electrically adjustable front comfort seats, electric rear window sunblinds and a BOSE Surround Sound System.
The entry-level Cayenne Electric additionally receives the Sport Chrono Package with Electric Sport Sound, Automatic Parking with 2D Surround View and rear-axle steering as standard.
The Cayenne S Electric adds HD Matrix LED headlights, while the range-topping Turbo Electric comes with a Burmester high-end sound system, Mood Modes and an Augmented Reality head-up display as standard.
The Storage Package, 230V luggage compartment socket, Air Quality System and Porsche Wireless Charging Preparation are also included across the range.
Three Powertrains, One Cayenne Family
With the introduction of the Cayenne Electric, Porsche Malaysia now offers the Cayenne with three different powertrain technologies: combustion, plug-in hybrid and fully electric.
The combustion-engined and plug-in hybrid Cayenne models continue to be locally assembled in Malaysia, while the new Cayenne Electric expands the model family’s appeal to customers looking for a fully electric performance SUV.
