Putrajaya, 27 August 2025 – PRO-NET, the official distributor for Proton e.MAS and smart Malaysia vehicles, handed over a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) to Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport on 26 August. The move aligns with the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021–2030 and reflects PRO-NET’s ongoing commitment to supporting the country’s shift toward sustainable mobility.

The handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Transport headquarters in Putrajaya and was attended by Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke along with PRO-NET representatives and other participating automotive brands. The event included two key segments: the launch of the Ministry of Transport National Month & 33rd Anniversary Celebration of Railway Asset Corporation (RAC), and the symbolic EV handover alongside the Ministry’s Jalur Gemilang flag-raising campaign.
The EV fleet consists of Malaysia’s leading electric model, the Proton e.MAS 7, as well as the smart #1 and smart #3. These vehicles will allow government stakeholders to experience EV technology firsthand—evaluating performance, driving range, and overall usability. The initiative supports Malaysia’s target of achieving 15% electrified vehicle adoption by 2030 and will help policymakers gain insights needed to shape infrastructure, policies, and long-term strategies to benefit the public.

PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang commented, “This collaboration reflects our dedication to advancing Malaysia’s sustainable transport goals. By providing government agencies direct access to Proton e.MAS and smart models, we aim to build greater understanding and readiness for an electrified future.”
The handover underlines PRO-NET’s strong support for the government’s efforts to expand EV adoption and push forward the country’s low-carbon mobility objectives
