Volvo Car Malaysia Opens Bookings for EC40 Single Motor Variant at RM248,888

Up to 488km range, new Sand Dune colour, and next-generation Volvo interface for MY2026

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 September 2025 – Volvo Car Malaysia today announced that bookings are now open for the 2026 model year Volvo EC40 in its new single-motor variant, priced at RM248,888¹. This new option makes the EC40 – Volvo’s first fully electric crossover SUV – RM40,000 more accessible than the twin-motor version, while still delivering premium design, technology, and safety.

Performance & Range

The EC40 Single Motor comes exclusively in the Ultra trim, powered by Volvo’s new-generation 175 kW (238 hp) permanent magnet rear electric motor. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and is paired with a 70 kWh high-voltage battery delivering up to 488 km² WLTP range. Fast DC charging enables a 10%–80% top-up in just 26 minutes³.

New Design Touches

For MY2026, the EC40 introduces:

Sand Dune exterior colour – a warm metallic tone with glass flakes inspired by Sweden’s west coast dunes.
Updated Cutting Edge interior décor accents, paired with a leather-free cabin in Charcoal Connect suede textile and Charcoal Microtech.

Next-Generation User Experience

The EC40 now features Volvo’s next-generation user interface, first introduced on the EX30. Designed for easier, more intuitive control, it reduces taps for common functions while enhancing visuals on the 9-inch Google built-in centre display and 12.3-inch driver’s display.

Safety & Technology

As with all Volvo cars, the EC40 is equipped with Safe Space Technology, including advanced collision-avoidance systems, driver assistance features, and a reinforced safety structure – delivering the highest levels of occupant and road-user protection.
