GWM Malaysia is celebrating its third anniversary with a campaign themed “Go With More Moving Moments,” highlighting the brand’s rapid rise in Malaysia since its debut in 2022. In just three years, GWM has grown from a newcomer to one of the country’s most active players in the electrified SUV segment.
Rapid Expansion and Strong Market Momentum
GWM now operates over 30 outlets nationwide, supported by strengthened aftersales services and an expanding customer base. Models such as the ORA GOOD CAT, ORA O7, HAVAL H6 HEV, TANK 300, and TANK 500 HEV have helped the brand establish a solid foothold among Malaysian buyers looking for hybrid and premium SUV options.

“Malaysia is one of GWM’s most dynamic and promising markets in Southeast Asia. In just three years, we have built a strong foundation of trust, innovation, and local engagement. Moving forward, we are committed to deepening localisation, expanding our product line-up, and enhancing the ownership experience,” said Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia.
The company’s growth is backed by notable sales results, including a 2,532% increase in 2023, 83% in 2024, and 313% year-to-date in 2025, signalling strong consumer demand and brand confidence.
GWM’s hybrid strategy is also paying off. The HAVAL H6 HEV is now recognised as Malaysia’s No. 2 hybrid SUV and the No. 1 Chinese hybrid SUV, further cementing GWM’s position in the market.
Pushing Forward: CKD, New Energy Vehicles, and Future Models
GWM Malaysia is now moving into its next growth phase, focusing on CKD local assembly, network expansion, and a more diverse range of new energy vehicles (NEVs) tailored to Malaysian drivers — from hybrids to full EVs.
A major highlight in the pipeline is the upcoming WEY G9 MPV, which GWM says will embody the idea of “First-Class For All.” Expected to redefine premium MPVs, it will focus on advanced comfort, technology, and family-oriented practicality.
The HAVAL SUV range will also continue to grow, with new models designed to offer more space, smarter features, and improved efficiency for Malaysian families.
On the technology front, GWM confirmed that future models will introduce the brand’s latest Hi4 intelligent hybrid system, developed for smarter energy management and better performance in everyday driving.
“GWM is not here for the short term. We are here to build long-term trust with Malaysians through our products, our people, and our partnerships. Our focus is on delivering genuine value, not just in price but in experience, quality, and care,” said Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia.
