KUALA LUMPUR, 15 January 2026 — GWM Malaysia closed 2025 on a strong note, recording an impressive 177% year-on-year growth, underlining rising consumer confidence and reinforcing the brand’s growing presence in Malaysia’s competitive automotive market.
The strong performance was driven primarily by GWM’s leadership in the hybrid segment, where the brand ranked third overall with a 15.5% market share in 2025. At the centre of this success was the GWM Haval H6 HEV, which emerged as one of Malaysia’s best-selling hybrid vehicles. The model ranked second among HEVs, capturing 14.9% market share, thanks to its balance of fuel efficiency, practicality and advanced hybrid technology.

Hybrid Strength Fuels Growth
GWM Malaysia’s results reflect a clear shift in Malaysian consumer preferences towards hybrid vehicles that offer real-world efficiency without compromising comfort or performance. The sustained demand for the Haval H6 HEV highlights growing acceptance of hybrid solutions as a practical step towards greener mobility.
Building on this momentum, GWM is preparing the next phase of its electrification journey with Hi4, its next-generation hybrid architecture. Designed to integrate efficiency, performance and intelligent energy management, Hi4 represents GWM’s long-term hybrid strategy and a future-ready platform for upcoming models in Malaysia.
Expanding Portfolio and Premium Push
Beyond the Haval H6 HEV, GWM Malaysia maintained a diversified lineup throughout 2025, spanning electrified, lifestyle and off-road segments, supported by ongoing brand-building initiatives to strengthen trust and awareness among Malaysian customers.
Commenting on the year’s performance, En. Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia, said the brand’s portfolio will expand further with the upcoming launch of the WEY G9 Intelligent Luxury MPV, scheduled for end-January 2026. The WEY G9 marks GWM Malaysia’s next step into the premium and intelligent mobility space.
Global Momentum Reinforces Local Confidence
GWM Malaysia’s success is backed by strong global performance. In 2025, GWM recorded global sales of 1,323,672 vehicles, up 7.33% year-on-year, with overseas deliveries reaching 506,066 units, an 11.68% increase from 2024.
New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) played a major role globally, with 403,653 units sold, representing 25.44% growth year-on-year. In December alone, GWM delivered 124,020 vehicles worldwide, including 57,418 overseas units, marking a 39.05% year-on-year increase for the month.
Supported by a global user base exceeding 16 million, over 1,400 overseas outlets, and 2 million cumulative overseas sales, GWM’s international strength continues to reinforce its credibility and long-term value proposition in Malaysia.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Entering 2026, GWM Malaysia is focused on strengthening its hybrid leadership while enhancing the overall ownership experience through product quality, innovation and customer support. The arrival of the WEY G9 Intelligent Luxury MPV is expected to play a strategic role in elevating brand aspiration and expanding GWM’s footprint across key segments.
Mr. Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, said the brand’s 2025 performance reflects growing consumer trust and a solid foundation for sustainable growth. Looking ahead, GWM remains committed to delivering meaningful value while contributing positively to Malaysia’s evolving mobility landscape.
