Sepang, 30 January 2026 – Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia (Zeekr Malaysia) recently hosted a one-of-a-kind Zeekr 7X Beyond Drive Experience at Sepang Bay 13 Off-Road Ranch, giving owners and media a rare chance to explore what the brand’s premium electric SUV can really do when taken well beyond city streets.
Held over two days on 23 and 24 January 2026, the programme was designed to put the Zeekr 7X through a variety of real-world challenges, from defensive on-road driving to rugged off-road terrain. All under the guidance of professional driving instructors with proven experience in performance and off-road programmes.
The goal was simple: show that the Zeekr 7X isn’t just a luxury EV for urban cruising, but a genuinely capable, multi-terrain machine with depth in both engineering and control.
A Premium EV That’s Comfortable Getting Dirty
While the Zeekr 7X already delivers the refinement, comfort and technology expected in its segment, this event went further. Placing it in environments usually reserved for traditional 4x4s.
Participants experienced how the Zeekr Magic Carpet Air Suspension, Distributed Traction Control System and Hill Descent Control work together to maintain stability and composure on loose surfaces, steep climbs and uneven ground.

“The Zeekr 7X was designed for real driving situations. Over the past two days, this experience allowed participants to feel how the vehicle performs in different environments. From defensive on-road driving to steep hill climbs and off-road obstacles,” said Eddy Lu, General Manager of Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia.
From Slalom to Jungle Trails
The programme blended structured on-road driving with unstructured off-road routes, including:
- Defensive & Dynamic On-Road Driving
A slalom course highlighted the 7X’s steering precision, agility and chassis balance, while straight-line acceleration and braking zones demonstrated smooth power delivery and confident stopping power. - Rally Experience Taxi Ride
Guests rode shotgun with a professional rally driver on a 1.5 km high-speed off-road route, hitting speeds of up to 120 km/h to showcase traction and stability on loose surfaces. - Off-Road Obstacle Course
Participants tackled side slopes, steep hill climbs and descents, elephant steps and water-wading. All designed to test the 7X’s composure and system responsiveness. - Adventure Trail
A 1.6 km off-road loop focused on ride comfort and suspension control across uneven terrain.
One of the biggest takeaways? The Zeekr 7X handled all of it and still drove smoothly afterwards.

“None of us expected an electric SUV to handle water-wading, steep jungle-like terrain and rugged obstacles so confidently. The best part is the car still felt smooth afterwards,” said Mr. Rukmanikanthan a/l Shanmugam, a Zeekr 7X owner who attended the event.
Serious Performance Under the Skin
The Zeekr 7X AWD Performance is powered by a dual-motor setup producing 646 hp and 710 Nm, supported by an advanced 800V electrical architecture and intelligent torque vectoring. Throughout the event, these systems worked together to deliver consistent power, strong traction and stable handling, even under demanding conditions.
📝 Writer’s Take
This event proves something important: the Zeekr 7X isn’t just another premium EV built for cafés and office blocks. It’s engineered with real depth. Air suspension, torque vectoring, and serious power and now, real dirt under its tyres to back it up.
Electric SUVs are often boxed into “urban luxury” roles, but Zeekr is clearly saying: this one goes further. And after seeing it climb, wade and rally its way around Sepang’s off-road ranch, that message lands hard.
If this is what a premium EV can do today, the future’s looking pretty adventurous
