Petaling Jaya, 27 August 2026 – Honda Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the New Honda City, bringing refreshed styling, enhanced technology and additional safety features to the popular B-segment sedan.
Positioned as a City for a new generation of urban drivers, the latest model receives a sportier exterior design while retaining the practicality, performance and efficiency that have made the City a popular choice among Malaysian motorists.
One of the biggest updates comes in the form of additional equipment, particularly on the New City e RS. The hybrid flagship now comes with a 10-inch Display Audio, Multi-View Camera System with 360-degree view, and Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitoring System, adding greater convenience and confidence to the ownership experience.
Sportier Design for a New Generation
The New City gets a refreshed front-end design that gives the sedan a more distinctive road presence.
A key highlight is the new Integrated Headlight Design with a full-width light bar, creating a sleeker and more cohesive appearance across the range.
The redesigned front fascia also gives the City a wider and more dynamic stance. For the first time on the model, air curtains have been incorporated into the front-end design.
At the rear, sportier styling elements complement the updated front while retaining the familiar City silhouette.
The RS variant gets additional visual enhancements in the form of new 16-inch milled alloy wheels finished in a two-tone combination of Berlina Black and Dark Clear.
More Technology and Convenience
Honda has also upgraded the City’s technology offering.
A new 10-inch Display Audio with Ambient Light provides a larger interface designed to make accessing vehicle functions and information more intuitive.
The New City also introduces a Multi-View Camera System, providing a 360-degree view around the vehicle. This is particularly useful when manoeuvring in tight urban spaces and during parking.
Another key addition is the Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitoring System, which alerts the driver to vehicles detected in adjacent blind spots and approaching traffic when reversing.
These features are designed to make daily driving easier while improving driver awareness in busy urban environments.
Petrol or Hybrid Powertrain
Honda Malaysia will continue to offer Malaysian customers a choice between petrol and hybrid powertrains.
The 1.5-litre e combines an electric motor with an Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (e-CVT), producing 109 PS and 253 Nm of torque from the electric motor.
The hybrid system operates through EV, Hybrid and Engine drive modes, allowing the powertrain to adapt to different driving conditions. This enables responsive performance in stop-and-go city traffic while maintaining efficiency during longer highway journeys.
For customers who prefer a conventional petrol setup, the 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with a CVT produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque.
The petrol powertrain is designed to provide smooth and responsive acceleration for everyday driving.
Honda SENSING Standard Across the Range
Honda Malaysia continues to offer Honda SENSING as standard across all New City variants.
The safety suite includes:
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Low Speed Follow (LSF)*
- Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
Together, these systems provide additional assistance with collision avoidance, lane keeping and highway driving.
RM3,000 Early Bird Reward
To coincide with the opening of bookings, Honda Malaysia is offering a RM3,000 Early Bird Reward for customers who place their bookings between 27 August and 30 September 2026.
The promotion forms part of Honda Malaysia’s effort to provide additional value to customers ahead of the New City’s arrival.
Honda Malaysia will also be showcasing the model through its New City Pop-up Store at selected locations as part of the Merdeka Day celebrations and the “One Nation, Shared Rewards” campaign.
Details of the pop-up locations will be announced and updated through Honda Malaysia’s official channels.
