2022 Peugeot 5008 [Genting Hill Climb] in the Wet / Powerful Family C Segment SUV | YS Khong Driving

Here is a full C Segment SUV, with a powerful 1.6 litre turbocharged engine – although it is a SUV, it has certain endearing elements, which include a Sports mode, and paddle shifters.

In addition, it also has terrain response modes, for sandy, muddy and other off-road conditions, despite being only FWD – should be okay for that visit to the durian plantation.

We didn’t get a good and clear drive the last time we took it out, so this one is a bit of a revenge drive too. Unfortunately the road was very wet this morning, but the silver lining is that we could actually do a wet drive to check how it handles – yes, the 5008 gave a good account of itself.

The powerful engine makes it more enjoyable to drive, and the high torque figure makes it feel like you are driving a 2.5 litre normally aspirated vehicle.

This is a lovely and enjoyable family SUV.
