Kuala Lumpur, 1 October 2026 – Tesla has announced an acceleration upgrade for the Model Y L, with the six-seat electric SUV now capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
Positioned as a family-focused SUV, the Model Y L combines a six-seat configuration with a claimed WLTP range of up to 681 km, while the acceleration upgrade adds a more responsive driving experience.
Tesla says the Model Y L is designed around safety, efficiency and technology, with a focus on maximising comfort for both drivers and passengers.
0–100 km/h in 4.5 Seconds
The headline update for the Model Y L is its upgraded acceleration performance.
With the acceleration upgrade, the SUV can now complete the 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds, giving the six-seat Model Y L considerably more performance for drivers who want quicker responses from the accelerator.
Tesla is also offering the acceleration boost as a complimentary upgrade for the Model Y L under the current offer.
The Model Y L is available to order in Malaysia with prices starting from RM263,000.
Tesla also states that monthly payments start from RM1,988, subject to the applicable financing terms.
Up to 681 km of WLTP Range
Despite its focus on performance and passenger capacity, the Model Y L continues to prioritise long-distance usability.
Tesla quotes a maximum driving range of up to 681 km under the WLTP cycle, allowing the SUV to cover longer distances between charging stops.
For families using the vehicle for daily commuting as well as longer road trips, the combination of a large cabin, six-seat layout and long claimed range is intended to make the Model Y L a more practical everyday EV.
