JAECOO J7 & JAECOO J8 [Walkaround Preview] – Another Luxury Off-Road SUV from China, by Chery

Jaecoo Malaysia introduced its first model for the Malaysian market, the Jaecoo J7, set to launch in Q2 2024. Positioned as a premium off-roader with all-wheel drive and seven terrain modes. It is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged inline-four petrol engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering 197 PS and 290 Nm torque.

The J7 is sized similarly to a Toyota Corolla Cross, featuring 200 mm ground clearance, 600 mm wading depth, and practical towing and roof load capacities. Notable features include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, leather seats, ambient lighting, a head-up display, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.8-inch touchscreen, an air-cooled wireless charger, and safety systems encompassing 21 intelligent driving functions.

Pricing details are pending, but it’s expected to be comparable to the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, and J7 units will be locally assembled.
