Kuala Lumpur, 5 October 2026 – GWM Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the all-new GWM ORA 5 HEV, giving Malaysian buyers another hybrid option in the compact SUV segment ahead of its official launch in November.
The ORA 5 HEV is expected to carry an estimated selling price of RM115,000, although the final price and complete specifications will only be announced at the model’s official Malaysian launch.
1,100km+ Range with Hybrid Power
The ORA 5 HEV combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 223 PS and 476 Nm of torque.
GWM’s Hi2 intelligent hybrid system is designed to balance performance and efficiency, with claimed fuel consumption of as low as 4.4 litres per 100 km.
The system also gives the ORA 5 HEV a claimed total driving range of more than 1,100km.
This allows drivers to cover longer journeys with fewer refuelling stops while retaining the convenience of conventional refuelling, without requiring external charging.
Compact SUV Designed for Everyday Driving
First previewed in Malaysia earlier this year, the ORA 5 HEV has been positioned as a compact SUV that combines distinctive styling, hybrid performance, efficiency and everyday versatility.
Rather than requiring drivers to commit fully to an electric vehicle, its hybrid powertrain is aimed at buyers who want to experience electrified mobility while retaining the flexibility of conventional refuelling.
GWM Malaysia says the model is designed around the needs of Malaysian drivers, particularly those looking for a balance between electrification, driving range and convenience.
Another Hybrid Option from GWM
The ORA 5 HEV joins GWM Malaysia’s wider range of New Energy Vehicles, which includes hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
According to GWM Malaysia, the model strengthens its presence in the compact SUV segment while giving consumers another way to move towards electrified mobility.

Bookings for the all-new GWM ORA 5 HEV are now open nationwide through authorised GWM dealerships.
Interested customers can visit their nearest GWM showroom or the official GWM Malaysia website to place a booking.
The official Malaysian launch is scheduled for November 2026, when GWM Malaysia is expected to reveal the model’s final selling price and complete specifications.
