The Story
PRO-NET has officially unveiled the new Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, introducing a new flagship variant that combines extended driving range with enhanced cabin comfort.
The launch forms part of Proton e.MAS’ largest-ever showcase at KLIMS under the theme “Kuasa e.MAS, Powering Malaysia Forward”, highlighting the brand’s continued growth as Malaysia’s best-selling EV brand.

According to PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang, the introduction of the Premium Plus variant represents the next stage in Proton e.MAS’ electrification journey.
“From introducing Malaysia’s first national EV in 2024 to becoming Malaysia’s No.1 EV brand today, we are grateful for the strong support from Malaysians. Guided by the spirit of Kuasa e.MAS, we continue to empower more Malaysians to embrace electrified mobility with confidence,” he said.
The Premium Plus arrives at a time when Proton e.MAS continues to gain momentum. The company revealed that more than 23,700 Proton e.MAS vehicles are now on Malaysian roads, while the recently launched e.MAS 7 PHEV has emerged as Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle with 2,936 deliveries year-to-date.
Bigger Battery, Longer Range
The biggest upgrade for the new flagship variant is its larger 68.39kWh AEGIS Short Blade Battery, increasing the vehicle’s estimated WLTP driving range to 450km.
This represents a notable improvement over the existing Premium variant and further strengthens the e.MAS 7’s credentials as a family-focused EV capable of handling both daily commutes and longer interstate journeys.

Despite the larger battery pack, charging performance remains unchanged, with the Premium Plus retaining 115kW DC fast charging, allowing a 30% to 80% charge in approximately 20 minutes.
Premium Comfort Takes Centre Stage
While the battery upgrade grabs the headlines, Proton has also focused heavily on occupant comfort.
New features exclusive to the Premium Plus include:
- Dual front massage seats
- Powered front passenger seat
- 4-way passenger seat adjustment
- Passenger seat memory function
- Integrated passenger leg rest
According to Proton, this makes the e.MAS 7 Premium Plus the first vehicle in its segment to combine a 450km WLTP range with dual massage seats and an integrated passenger leg rest.
For buyers who regularly undertake long-distance journeys, these upgrades could prove just as significant as the increased battery capacity.
Kuasa e.MAS Showcase At KLIMS 2026
Beyond the new variant, Proton e.MAS is using KLIMS 2026 to demonstrate the technologies underpinning its growing EV ecosystem.
Visitors to the booth can explore five key technologies:

Verdict
The e.MAS 7 Premium Plus isn’t a radical reinvention of Proton’s flagship EV, but it doesn’t need to be. By addressing two of the biggest considerations among EV buyers, driving range and long-distance comfort. Proton has made an already compelling package even more attractive.
With up to 450km of WLTP range, massage seats, a passenger leg rest and launch pricing from RM118,800, the Premium Plus strengthens the e.MAS 7’s position as one of the most complete family EVs currently available in Malaysia. For buyers considering the jump to electric mobility, this latest addition to the lineup may well be the sweet spot. ⚡🚗
